minimal change disease

noun

: a kidney disease that is marked by renal tissue which appears normal when examined by light microscope but shows minimal pathological changes when examined by electron microscope, that is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in children, and that is typically idiopathic but may sometimes be associated with an identifiable cause (as NSAID use)
